Scene 1 Which?
Oz is alot like the farm we left but brighter and with munchkin houses. Dorothy arrives out of a crashed house (stripey sock are visible underneath) and is surrounded by Munchkins, front two have moustaches and mullets and look like they come from Rotherham
Munchkin brother one: helloOo, who are you?
Dorothy: Hello I'm Dorothy I'm from Kansas America the land of the brave and the home of the free
Brave: Yes the brave had to leave after the free arrived (leaves)
Dorothy: Are The Village People on tour again?
Munchkin brother two: Nevermind that, where you come from?
Munchkin brother one: Yes brother (chuckle),you show her you cant mess with us munchkins. (action to show its a fight thing)
Munchkin brother two: Where did you come from?
Dorothy: I don't know…my mummy never told me, Aunt Em said something about stork and a cabbage patch
Munchkin: No I mean where did you come from today?
Dorothy: Oh I know where I came from, but I have no idea where I am
Munchkin brother two: Well I know where I am, but I have no idea where you are from
Munchkin brother one:Yes brother (chuckle), you stand up to her.
Dorothy: So I traveled from somewhere I know to somewhere I don't know
Munchkin brother two: No I think you'll find you traveled from somewhere I don't know to somewhere I know
Munchkin brother one:Yes brother (chuckles), you show her.
Dorothy: I'm sure I traveled from somewhere I know to somewhere I don't know
Munchkin brother two: Well I'm sure you traveled from somewhere I don't know to somewhere I know
Dorothy: (unsure) Well maybe I did …. NO! I traveled to you
Munchkin brother two: to me ?
Munchkin brother one: to you? (pointing)
Dorothy: No to you (pointing meaning two of them)
Munchkins: (point to themselves) to me?
Dorothy: To You!
Munchkin brother two: to me (agreeing)
Munchkin brother one:Yes brother (chuckle),
Munchkin brother two: Don't chuckle brother, its not funny.
All: (look at audience to see if they understand …)
Third Munchkin: Look she killed the witch.
Munchkin brother one: Which witch, I never know which witch is which.
Munchkin Brother two: this witch was the witch with the stitch not the with with the itch.
Third Munchkin: All Hail Dorothy the witch-killer from Kansas the hand of the tree and the gnome called Dave.
Dorothy: I haven't killed any witch I've only just got here, you must have me mistaken.
Third Munkinch: Don't be humble your most excellence, you have clearly slain the witch with your flying castle.
Dorothy: that's no flying castle, it's my house I got sucked up in a typhoon, and now I don't know where I am.
Third Munchkin: See, (points under house) All that is left of here are her striped stockings, and her magical red slippers.
Munchkin Brother two: They're not striped there american tan.
Dorothy: Oh golly gosh i hope she is okay, maybe we can pull her out to help grabs legs pulls, puff of smoke, is left holding slippers and stockings
Munchkin Four: Now you have slain the witch and claimed the slippers you must wear the Ruby shoes.
Dorothy: Well…they are lovely shoes and… I think they'll only be a little big.
Third Munchkin: and now you have turned her into smoke she has no feet to put them on anyway
Dorothy: So, I'll be doing her a favour really. puts on shoes
FLASH Glinda Good witch of the north appears
Glinda: Who are you, wearing my sisters shoes?
Dorothy: I'm so sorry miss witch I was just trying them on, I'll put them back, I'm sorry please don't hurt me.
Glinda: Do not be afraid Dorothy, I am Glinda the good witch of the north. My sister had it coming. You may keep the shoes, like the Munchkin said they are your by rights.
Dorothy: Where am I? Who are you? What's going on, begins to cry
Glinda takes Dorothy aside the munchkins continue working and leave slowly.
Glinda: There, there, look Dorothy I do not have the power to send you somewhere I do not know. but there is a greater wizard than I who has the power of flight, he can make anyones wishes come true. He lives in the emerald city in the very middle of this land you are in. You are in Munchkinland in the East of Oz and he is the Wizard of Oz.
Dorothy: How will I find This Wizard? Is the Emerald city far from here?
Glinda: Yes the Emerald city is quite a way from here, but it s easy to find all you need do is follow the yellow brick road, it will take you straight there. But you now have a very desirable pair of shoes and there is a Witch in the East who will try to get them from you. I come with you as I have much busiess to attend to but if you are quick and I give you a protective kiss, you should be safe in the City. kisses her foerhead I must go now.
Dorothy: ..But I don't know if i can do this alone.
Glinda: fading I'm sure you shall meet many friendly faces on your path.
Dorothy: Oh Toto…I'm so scared, I don't like this place at all. Oh which way should i got now? I've forgotten the way the nice witch said to go and now I don't have anyone to help me. I wish i had a clever friend to figure out which way to go. Now what was it Aunt Em used to say all roads lead to…home? No thats not right. I wish i was home though i don't like this place at all.
Dorothy sits on a bench near a field and begins to cry
Scarecrow: Hey there, you cant park there, can't you see the double yellow lines?
Dorothy: Oh I'm so sorry sir. Does the Yellow brick road have double yellow lines on?
Scarecrow:It certainly does
Dorothy: Well thats not fair you can't see them cos its yellow lines on a yellow background
Scarecrow: Oh Yes it's called that the Hotblack Desiato clause. It is unfair…however we do allow you to park yellow cars without getting a ticket.
Dorothy: Yellow cars must very popular?
Scarecrow: How do I know…I can't see them
Dorothy:Can I buy one second hand
Scarecrow: Yes…but they tend to have had a lot of bumps.
Dorothy:Whys that?
Scarecrow: People bump into them when they are parked. Who Are you anyhow, your a freaky looking munchkin.
Dorothy: I'm Dorothy Jarland Gale, from Kansas, Home of the free and land of the brave.
Native american: (moves to centre say)the braves had to leave once the free moved in (and leaves)
Dorothy: What are you doing up there, on that pole?
Scarecrow: I dunno… I'm stupid.
Dorothy: What do you mean? You have to have a brain, everyone has one.
Scarecrow: Not me When i was made they just filled all of my with straw including my head. So now I'm the most useless scarecrow around. All the crows know I'm stupid so they just come and eat the corn. How I wish I could have a brain.
Dorothy: I'm of to see the Wizard on Oz, I was told he can all you wishes come true. I'm sure he'd help you.
Scarecrow: You think? Well could you help me down from this pole so i can walk with you?
(dorothy help him down, he has trouble walking)
Dorothy: But Scarecrow, i don't know which as to go.
Scarecrow: Well I can't help because I don't have a brain but if I did I would assume that this is the right way as it the way that most people go, you can tell because the road is more worn this way. But then what do i know?
Dorothy:That sounds right, lets go.
Dorothy: Children can you help? I can't remember what we have to do ….
Dorothy: You see we have this Yellow brick road but
